Dear Patrons,

As of June 1,2008, Crossroads Ministries has been forced to make several policy changes.  This is due to a decrease in available food and the added expense for us to buy it, as well as the cost of gas for all of us.  We will serve people In Old Town and the surrounding towns of  Alton, Argyle, Bradley, Greenbush (until their pantry is opened), Greenfield, Milford, Orono and north side of Veazie.  We will not be able to serve families beyond this area. We are working with the Food Banks, U.S.D.A. and Penquis to find food pantries closer to each family’s home.

The new policies are:

1.   You can pick up food for your household only.  Notes of permission to get food for other people will not be accepted.

2.  For our purposes, a household is defined as a place where any number of people live with one shared kitchen. If you live in one room of a house shared with other people, we will be combining the numbers to more effectively distribute the amount of food. For example, a turkey or one large fruit, dessert or cereal will be expected to be shared with all people living at that household.

3.  Crossroads should not be your only source of food; but a way for you to stretch the amount of money you have for the more nutritious items we can't supply.

Our greatest concern is that no one go hungry and that we be able to remain open to serve as many families as we can through this difficult time.
