Brenda Davis

Brenda Davis is the Founder and Director of Crossroads Ministries, Inc in Old Town, Maine.

Her vision began in 1956 when at a summer camp for girls she asked Jesus Christ to be lord and savior of her heart and life. From that time at the age of eight she knew she was to be a missionary.

In 1991 while at work she overheard a co-worker saying she didn’t know how she was going to choose between buying food for her family or pay rent and buy gas so she could get to work the next week. Her child had been sick and she had missed 3 days of work and was now faced with a very real dilemma.

This bothered Brenda immensely, when she got home she went through her cupboards and gathered a box of food and placed it in the co-workers car the next day.  That was the beginning of Crossroads Ministries.

With prayer, faith, and the help of her husband, Herb, Brenda accepted the calling to be a missionary realizing her mission field was her in her own backyard.  That was 15 years ago; compassion, one box of food, and a lot of faith. From that one act Crossroads grew and continues to grow providing $500,000 worth of services to families in the greater Old Town area last year.

Brenda is now a widow. She has two sons and grandchildren. She serves on a number of boards and committees for organizations working to end hunger and build stronger safer communities. She is also active with Boy Scouts of America.  She is a certified parent educator, conflict resolution facilitator, and ordained minister; she completed a degree in business administration in 2006.
