Annual Ending Hunger Walking Tour
Brenda to
start her walk on November 1!
For the last six years, Director Brenda
Davis has done a walk to end hunger. Each of these years she has
started out at one end of the state and made each step to the other
so that many families, friends, seniors, and kids don't go hungry.
About the walk
Crossroads Ministries and the Credit Union League
Brenda Davis is the Director of Crossroads Ministries & Resource
Center. This is Old Town’s and surrounding areas local center for
ending hunger.
For the
last six years she has teamed up with the Credit Union League based
in Westbrook.
The Credit
Union League is an organization made up of credit unions from Maine.
November is Hunger Awareness Month.
For each of the past 5 years, Brenda walks all over the Pine
Tree State during the month of November.
From Kittery to Fort Kent—she raises awareness about hunger
in out state.
This year
she will be visiting 69 credit unions and distributing donations to
51 food programs all over the state of Maine.
The donations come from the Credit Union League.
Brenda does the hard part, walking all over the State of
Maine to distribute all 51 of them.
There are times when Brenda is walking alone.
She invites anyone to come out and join her while she is
walking in your community.
What you can do?
Go out into your community! On
the back of this brochure is a pledge form.
Please use this to solicit pledges for your own organization,
local churches, businesses, family and friends. You may photo copy
the pledge form and
distribute this to anyone interested in raising awareness about
ending hunger.
This is a
great opportunity to get support for your organization.
Please consider coming out and walking with Brenda when she
comes to your town.
This
year the route will be marked the night before she comes through
your town.
Crossroads
does ask for 10%
of
total money raised to help support the walk.
If you have any questions call 827-1298 or 394-2530.
